Ina
, originally from Germany and Didier
, native of Cantal met each other in Briandes in
1979 and decided to stay there, restore the buildings and create a farm
and gîtes.
Wanting to share our lifestyle, we invite to this rural setting,
families, groups of children or adults for week-ends, holidays or
nature trips.

Our children's future on this planet is
uppermost in our thoughts.
We have a realistic take regarding the impact we have on the
environment and try to reflect this in our day-to-day running of our
gîtes.
Water economy : our taps and
showers are equipped with water economisers. The water at Briandes is
excellent for drinking, coming from a natural source at a depth of 250
m. No need to bring bottled water.
Minimize energy consumption : all
our lights are fitted with low consumption bulbs.
Wood heating for the gîte de séjour with electric
radiators providing supplementary heating in the bedrooms.
Our house is equipped with a solar collector for hot water and a
photo-voltaic installation which produces the equivalent of our
personal consumption of electricity. Our house is heated by the sun and
a wood- burner.

We recycle our waste ,
avoiding 'disposable' products such as plastic cups and plates.
Compost : We recycle our organic
waste providing compost indispensible for growing vegetables or feeding
chickens and pigs.
Home produce : on our
menu we offer beef, veal, pork or rabbit raised ourselves aswell as
fruits and vegetables from our own garden together with local products.
In this way, reducing the impact of transportation on the environment.
We use no pesticides or chemical fertilizer for the garden or vegetable
patch.
